Cortical Malformation Syndrome

Cortical malformation syndromes encompass a group of neurodevelopmental disorders caused by abnormal brain cortical development, such as polymicrogyria or lissencephaly. Affected individuals may have developmental delay, intellectual disability, seizures, or motor abnormalities. Genetic testing helps identify the specific etiology and informs prognosis and counseling.
